Merry Christmas!

To those who celebrate, Merry Christmas!

The presents have been opened in our house at least and now it’s off to the grandparents’ house for lunch and the exchanging of presents.

Last night, I found the phone number for NORAD so the Lil Dude could ask when Santa was going to deliver his present in Southern California, and the helper elf who answered said that Santa has no set time but it’ll be between 9pm to midnight. BUT she said, if he’s not asleep, Santa will move on to the next house and boy, did he go to bed quickly!

Who knew that would work? Why’d I only think of doing that now that he’s eight?

But better late than never, right?

Now I have to figure out what will work for the rest of the year…

So Not Ready

I’m so not ready for Christmas.  We don’t even have a tree up yet and the little guy is worried that his gifts won’t show up unless there’s tree.  I have to find a small one like last year’s and set it up and maybe that will get me into the holiday spirit.

Instead, I’ve been worried about hitting deadlines, especially the ones that gleefully pass me by… like the Christmas novella I had planned to write for one of the 23 premade covers I own!  And I still have a Christmas story to write for Dax and Harlow!  Thankfully, the first few paragraphs showed themselves late last night and I’m hoping one last caffeine refill will get me writing late into the night in time for the newsletter tomorrow afternoon.

One good thing that has put us all in a Christmas spirit of sorts was getting this in the mail for the little guy:

A fellow writer was kind enough to send a card with a little gift for my little prince all the way from the North Pole – and from Santa himself.  Of course, now that the little munchkin learned that he’s on the “Nice” list, he thinks he doesn’t have to go to bed early or behave in school. Too bad for him, he’s learning that Mom has the last say in all things, even Santa things.

How about you?  Are you ready for the holidays?

Before I forget, I have two giveaways, going on!  One is a Midwinter’s Eve giveaway for a $5 Amazon Gift Card and the other is a KINDLE FIRE just in time for the New Year!  And the more you share it in your social networks, the more chances you get to win!
